Although the Timberwolves dropped a 106-90 decision to the visiting Cavaliers, Wiggins’ individual performance didn’t go unnoticed and couldn’t have come at a better time.

In fact, there may have been some added motivation.

The 19-year-old rookie was drafted first overall by the Cavaliers, but was sent to the Timberwolves in a blockbuster deal for Kevin Love before the season started.

Wiggins, who was born in the Toronto area, went 14-for-25 from the field and drained a trio of three-pointers in 43 minutes of action.

James prevailed in the battle with Wiggins and recorded a game-high 36 points.

However, the outcome did not dampen the excitement over Wiggins’ performance.
