Sources are telling Hoops Hype Canada that Burlington, Ontario native Brady Heslip is weighing his options to play overseas. ESPN reported earlier Thursday morning, and we can confirm the reports. Heslip spent four years playing at Baylor University and went undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft.

The 6-2 guard received an invite to participate in the NBA Summer League with the Minnesota Timberwolves – signing his first NBA contract on August 29, 2014. In five games, two of which were starts the 24-year old averaged 6.2-points per game, shooting 7/10 from three.

Heslip then received a training camp invite with the Wolves, however, he did not play much. He only appeared in three games, averaging a total of 5.8-minutes. He was released by the Wolves on October 25, 2014 – later signing an NBA D-League contract with the Reno Bighorns.

In his first D-League game coming off the bench, Heslip, known for his three-point shooting scored 40-points on 11/18 shooting from beyond the arc. He followed that game up with a 38-point performance, and a few games later dropped a career high 45-points. He’s averaging 27.9-points in 11-games, nine of which he started. He’s shooting close to 50% from three. Heslip is currently third in the D-League in scoring.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Sacramento Kings were considering signing Heslip to a contract before the firing of Head Coach Mike Malone.

Hoops Hype Canada’s very own Sonny Bairos is reporting that Heslip has a lucrative contract offer from Spanish club Laboral Kutxa.
